GST Invoice Generator

Generate a compliant GST invoice with CGST/SGST/IGST split — download as PDF.

The GST Invoice Generator builds a GST invoice from the supplier, recipient and line-item details you enter. It computes tax as CGST plus SGST or as IGST by comparing the supplier's State with the place of supply you select. It suits small businesses and professionals who need a printable invoice they can save as a PDF.

Use the GST Invoice Generator

Fill in the invoice details below. Tax is worked out as CGST+SGST when the supplier's State and the place of supply are the same, and as IGST when they differ (IGST Act, sections 7, 8, 10 and 12). The place of supply defaults to the recipient's State, or to the supplier's State for a local sale to an unregistered customer with no address on record. Use the “Print / Save as PDF” button at the end for a clean printable copy.

If your aggregate turnover in any financial year from 2017-18 exceeded ₹5 crore, B2B and export invoices must be reported on the Invoice Registration Portal as e-invoices (Notification 10/2023-Central Tax); taxpayers with AATO of ₹10 crore or more must report them within 30 days of the invoice date. This tool does not generate an IRN or QR code. Special place of supply rules (for example immovable property, events, transport, or goods delivered to a third party on the recipient's instruction) can point to a different State: pick it in “Place of supply”.

Frequently Asked Questions

What details must a GST tax invoice contain?
A GST tax invoice generally shows the supplier's name, address and GSTIN, a unique invoice number and date, the recipient's name and address (and GSTIN if registered), the place of supply with the State name and code, whether tax is payable on reverse charge, HSN or SAC code, description, quantity, taxable value, GST rate and tax amount as CGST and SGST or IGST, the invoice total, and the signature of the supplier or an authorised signatory. Check the full requirements under Rule 46 of the CGST Rules.
When is IGST charged instead of CGST and SGST?
IGST is charged on inter-state supplies, where the supplier's location and the place of supply are in different states. For intra-state supplies, where both are in the same state, tax is split equally between CGST and SGST. This tool compares the supplier's State with the place of supply, which defaults to the recipient's State; change the place of supply where a special rule applies (for example goods delivered to a third party on the recipient's instructions, immovable property or events).
Do I need to issue an e-invoice?
E-invoicing applies if your aggregate turnover in any financial year from 2017-18 onwards exceeded ₹5 crore (Notification 10/2023 – Central Tax, from 1 August 2023), for B2B supplies and exports. Such invoices must be reported on the Invoice Registration Portal to obtain an IRN and QR code, and taxpayers with AATO of ₹10 crore or more must report them within 30 days of the invoice date. This tool does not generate an IRN.
How does the GST invoice generator work?
Enter supplier and recipient details, the invoice number and date, and line items with HSN or SAC code, quantity, rate and GST percentage. The tool computes the taxable value and tax for each line, shows the total as CGST and SGST or as IGST, and builds a printable preview that you can save as a PDF. Check the invoice before you issue it.
