What it is

Where a company issues secured debentures, the charge securing them is registered with the Registrar in Form CHG-9 (instead of CHG-1), under Sections 77 and 79 of the Companies Act, 2013. The form gives the debenture trustee, the series, the amount secured, the property charged and the dates of creation or modification. The debenture trustee must be registered with SEBI where the rules require one.
