Form 15G: Declaration for No TDS (up to FY 2025-26)
Declare to a bank or company that your income is below the taxable limit, so that it does not deduct TDS on interest or dividend paid up to 31 March 2026.
Law version: FY 2025-26 (Income-tax Act, 1961). Checked on 26 Sep 2026.
What it is
Form 15G was a self-declaration under Section 197A(1A) of the Income-tax Act, 1961 by a resident individual below 60 (or a HUF, trust or other non-company) that the tax on their estimated total income for the year is nil. Given to a bank, company or other payer, it allowed interest, dividend and similar income to be paid without TDS. It applies only to income paid or credited up to 31 March 2026. From 1 April 2026, Forms 15G and 15H are replaced by a single Form 121 under Section 393(6) of the Income-tax Act, 2025.

A false declaration is an offence. Form 15G could be given only if the tax on estimated total income was nil and the aggregate of income covered by the declaration did not exceed the basic exemption limit. The payer files a quarterly statement of declarations received. For Tax Year 2026-27, use Form 121 instead; the bank or payer may provide its own copy.
Form 15G applies only to income paid or credited up to 31 March 2026. From 1 April 2026 (Tax Year 2026-27) Forms 15G and 15H are replaced by a single Form 121 under Section 393(6) of the Income-tax Act, 2025.
